About Us

Parish Nurses are registered nurses who also have a Parish Nursing qualification. Regulation is provided by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Each group of Parish Nurses works with a team of Parish Nursing Assistants to provide whole person healthcare through local churches into the community.

Parish Nursing in North Tyneside (PNNT) is affiliated to Parish Nursing UK, a national Christian charity. PNNT is led by Jackie and Helen, both are qualified nurses and Parish Nurses. They are joined by a team of caring volunteers, some of whom also have nursing backgrounds. The qualified Parish Nurses wear navy blue, nursing assistants wear purple.
